Now that we have all the materials that we
need, we can get on with our lesson.

Please feel free to play with the settings and
come up with something different.

1) Open a new image 200 px x 200 px,
transparent.

2) Flood fill with a color of your choice.
I used #64332

3) Go to Effects/Texture Effects

Settings:

Texture: Sandstone
Scaling: 100%
Relief: 2
Light Direction: Top
Invert: Unchecked



4) Go to Effects/Brush Strokes/Angled Strokes
Settings:

Direction Balance: 50
Stroke Length: 15
Sharpness: 3

*Note*

When working with black or very dark
colours, increase the sharpness so that
you can see the angled strokes.
